At the Gala, grants were issued totaling more
than $50,000 to Long Island-based animal welfare charities.
This year's recipients are: The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons,
Inc., Glen Cove Animal Lovers’ League, Kent Animal Shelter,
Last Hope Rescue, the Pig Placement Network and Rocky’s

Pet Peeves board, an emergency grant of $5,000 is being issued
to Noah's Wish, an international not for profit organization
that is active in aiding and housing pets displaced by Hurricane
Katrina.
Student Achievement Awards were issued to two
pet loving teenagers who have given generously of their time
and money to help animals in need. This year's recipients were

Suffolk County. Pet Peeves is very proud of the accomplishments
of both young ladies who have committed themselves to extensive
voluntary efforts on behalf of animals in need.
The 2006 Pet Peeves Critter Calendars were also
unveiled at the Gala. The calendars feature winning photos submitted
by Long Island pet owners. The winners were selected by a panel
of judges, including some of Long Island’s best known
professional photographers. The 2006 calendars are just $10
each and are available for purchase through the Pet Peeves website.

them and enable them to continue to work on behalf of so many
animals in need. We are also delighted to see young people engaged
in this important cause and we salute the accomplishments of
